Have you considered volunteering for a Board of Directors Role?

Our board is looking for new board members who bring passion for the community, business savvy and an understanding of or willingness to learn good governance. Board positions are reserved for residents of Varsity Community.

Current vacancies include:
Treasurer
Director at Large
Director of Communications
Director of Events
Director at Programs

Varsity Community Association was incorporated in October 1965 and for over 50 years has had the Mission of “Enhancing and Enriching the Quality of Community for Varsity Residents.”

Led by a volunteer Board of Directors and a professional staff of approximately 30, the association offers programs, activities and civic engagement for its residents and members. Varsity Community Association (VCA) is a non-profit organization registered under the Societies Act of Alberta and a charity registered with Canada Revenue Agency.

Time Commitment

• The VCA Board meets 9 times per year with the annual AGM in November.
• Directors can expect to commit 2 – 5 hours per month (board meetings, committee meetings, preparation) and serve a two-year term.
• From time-to-time, Directors would also be invited to attend training, stakeholder meetings and/or events.
