Unleash Adventure: The Power of Risky Play in Child Development!”

In today’s world, parents often find themselves navigating a delicate balance between fostering their child’s development and ensuring their safety. However, amidst the rise of structured activities and safety concerns, there’s growing recognition of the importance of risky play in children’s lives.

From igniting creativity to fostering problem-solving skills and resiliency, Risky play is a powerful tool to add to our parenting arsenal.

Contrary to common misconceptions, risky play isn’t about encouraging recklessness or neglecting safety measures. Instead, it’s about allowing children the freedom to explore, experiment, and learn within boundaries that are appropriate for their age and capabilities. The Canadian Paediatric Society acknowledges that while risky play carries inherent risks, the benefits far outweigh the potential harms when managed effectively.

The VCA invites you to join our Loose Parts Play Program where children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and create with open-ended materials in a supervised yet adventurous setting. By participating in our program, your child will have the opportunity to engage in risky play under the guidance of trained facilitators, allowing them to reap the numerous benefits outlined by the CPS
